Assignment of lease by Thomas ap John of the town of Monmoth, the elder, to Phylyp Davyd Lase, which lease John Sergeant, esq. and Thomas Sergeant, his son and heir by deed 2 February 31 Henry VIII (1540) made to Thomas ap John and Jenett, then his wife, now deceased, of a messuage with garden adjoining in the town of Monmoth in the street called Monwestrete, in length and breadth between the said street, the burgage of James ap John, the burgage then late of John Bulger and the messuage then of the said John Sergeant on all sides, for 93 years. Rent: 2s. 8d. per annum at Michaelmas and Annunciation.
