1 Henry Hare, baron Colerane. 2 Mathew Carleton of London, merchant. 3 Hugh Hare, son and heir apparent of 1. 4 Lydia Carleton, eldest daughter of 2. Articles Of Agreement previous to the marriage of 3 and 4, including:. (I) 1, before the marriage, to grant to 2 an annuity or rent charge of £450 for 80 years, if 1 live so long, to issue out of the manors of Denver and Walpole, a capital m. or manorhouse in the tenure of John Scott the elder at Churchfield in Walpole and other properties (400 a.) in the t's and p's of Denver, Walpole, Walton, and West Walton, all in Norfolk. (Ii) 1, before the marriage, to settle on trustees named by 2, the manors of West Walton, Walpole and Walsoken, the rectory and parsonage of Walpole, and the manors, m's, etc., of 1 in p's West Walton, Walpole, Walsoken, Terrington, Tilney, Ke[?mvick], Clenchwarton, Saddlebow Cum Sechy, Old Lynn, Emneth, and Well, all in Norfolk, and Well in Cambridgeshire, the advowsons of the moiety of the vicarages of the churches of the BVM of West Walton and St Peter and St Andrew of Walpole, and any other lands, tmt's, etc., of 1 in the precincts of Marshland, Norfolk, to the use of 1 for life, to the use of Sarah, dowager duchess of Somerset, his wife, for life, to their heirs and to the heirs of 3 and 4, the manors of Tottenham, Panbrooke, Bruses, Dawbuesse and Mockings, Middlesex, and all other m's, lands, etc., of 1 in p's Tottenham, Edmonton, Hornsey and Enfield, Middlesex, are to be settled to the use of 1 for life, to the use of his said wife for life, and then to the uses of trustees to be appointed by 1 for a term of 300 years in trust to raise £6,000. (Iii) 1, after the marriage but before 1 Nov. 1689, to settle on persons named by 2, man. Langford and m's, lands, etc., in Wiltshire, to the use of 1 for life, to trustees to be named by 1 for a term of 400 years in trust for 3 for life and to be a further security for the said sum of £6,000, and then to the heirs of 3 and 4, and the premises specified in (i) above to the use of 3 for life, to 4 for life for her jointure and in lieu of dower. (Iv) 2, before the marriage, to convey his m's, lands, etc., in Dorking, Mickleham, Betchworth, Wonersh, Shere, Leatherhead, Cranleigh, Great Bookham, Holmwood, and Capel, Surrey, to the use of 3 for life, then to the use of 4 for life, and afterwards to the heirs of the bodies of 3 and 4.
