Biographical history

Ian David Lewis Michael (1936-2020) wrote detective novels under the pseudonym David Serafin. He was educated at Neath Grammar School and King's College, London, and was Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester before being appointed Professor of Spanish at the University of Southampton. He was appointed Professor of Spanish Studies at the University of Oxford in 1982.
