Agreement (draft) to lease for 78 years John Maybery's two thirds' interest in the Herwen ffurnace in Penderin and the coalworks on Herwen common called the Gollen and Bringwyn coalworks in lp's Miskin and Glynthonthey, also in the mines of ironstone within the same lp and in all privileges contained in the lease granted by Lady Windsor of 27 Feb. 1760, and also the liberty of raising building stones, coal, iron, sand, etc., on the estates of Edward Mathews, esq., by an agreement of 30 Nov. 1771, also in the freehold lands called Tyr Gwyn bach in Penderin, the lessors agreeing to pay £100 towards putting the furnace and premises in repair; covenants to deliver at Neath and at Tilyderry, co. Brec., 200 tons of bright grey and dark grey pig-iron of proper mixtures of iron and limestone in such proportions as the lessors should direct before the end of 1780, and subsequently 2 tons of bright grey iron and 2 tons of dark grey iron weekly until 200 tons are supplied (yearly), at £3.5.0 per ton plus cost of carriage; the lessee to pay the reserved rent of £23 to Lady Windsor; provision to accept a rent of £133.6.8 in lieu of iron delivered in the aforesaid terms.
