Ganed Dilys Williams ym 1910, yr ieuengaf o blant John Edwal ac Angharad Williams (née Jones) a chwaer iau Waldo Williams. Bu'n gweithio fel athrawes yn Ysgol Wdig, Sir Benfro. Hi oedd 'archifwraig ei theulu' (Alan Llwyd: Waldo: Cofiant Waldo Williams: 1904-1971 (Y Lolfa, 2014), tud. 39), a hi luniodd ychydig eiriau am Waldo ar gyfer rhifyn Hydref 1971 o'r Traethodydd, sef rhifyn coffa Waldo. 'Roedd Dlys yn bresennol wrth wely angau Waldo, a hi'r ieuengaf o'r brodyr a'r chwiorydd a'u goroesodd.
