Biographical history
The Academic Industrial Interaction Working Party was set up in 1986 to improve interaction between industry and constituent colleges of the University which it was hoped would lead to wealth generation activities in industry and to an increase in related research activities in the University. A report was commissioned under the direction of Graham Hulse who during his research made an intensive study of the Salford University Business Services which was funded by WINTECH (Wales Innovation and Technology). The report also looked at intellectual rights of inventions and patents. It is not entirely clear to whom the Working Party reported but the Committee of Principals took a keen interest in its work and were kept well informed about its progress.
