Title deeds relating to Our Lady’s Mill [granted by the crown first to John Pryse in 1574], comprising a grant by Elizabeth I to Sir Richard Pryse, explaining that the mill was erected for the sustenance of a chaplain in the chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary near the sea, 1585; a deed of sale by Francis Morrice of Westminster and Francis Phelipps of London to Richard Pryse, 1613/14; leases by Pryse Pryse of Woodstock, Pryse Loveden and Sir Pryse Pryse, of Our Lady’s Mill and pieces of land in Mill Street, 1800-1875; and a deed of sale by the Corporation of Aberystwyth to Pryse Pryse, 1844. The leases of 1839 and 1863 include the leat and head dam or pool above the ruins of Plas Crug.
