Administrative history
The Aberystwyth Bibliographical Group was established in 1970, 'to foster a scholarly interest in printed books, manuscripts and maps'. The Group currently has about sixty members, most of whom are current or former members of the staffs of the National Library of Wales and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. The Group organises talks, residential symposiums, excursions and the occasional book exhibition.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer
Donated by the Group per Mr Rhidian Griffiths, former Honorary Secretary, National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, September 1989. and per Miss E. D. Paul, Honorary Secretary, 11 Nant Seilo, Penrhyn-coch, Aberystwyth, in January 1995 and in 1996.

Correspondence, 1975-1995; minutes of Annual General Meetings and Secretary's reports, 1976-1988; financial papers, 1976-1980; lists of members, 1976-1981; publicity material and miscellaneous papers, 1978-1989, and papers relating to symposiums, 1981, 1984, 1988 and 1992.
