The proposed 56 Group Wales book, provisionally titled Half a Century of Innovation in Welsh Art, was to have been written by art historian and author Dr Peter Wakelin. When Dr Wakelin was forced to abandon the project it was taken over by author and curator David Moore, who eventually published the book under the title A Taste of the Avant-Garde to mark the 56 Group Wales's fifty-sixth anniversary in 2012 (see V/13 (Box 24), also F/7 (e) (Box 4)).
